Unique Beaches: Piñuela Beach

Piñuela Beach is the southernmost beach within the Ballena Marine National Park. It is our top recommendation for families with children or anyone seeking a small bay with calm waters.

There is plenty of natural shade available, and the ranger station provides access to toilets and showers. Since parking is limited, we recommend arriving early during low tide.

Here are some ideas/tips to get the best out of your visit:

  • Check the tide. Please note that while the sandy area is completely covered during high tide, the elevated rocky area remains dry. This makes it an ideal spot to sit and watch the ocean.
  • Keep your entrance ticket for the day, as you can use it to visit other sectors of the park.
  • Single-use plastics and alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Ballena Marine National Park Regulations.

BACKPACK LIST: water, sunblock, hat, and bathing suit for a swim.

Opening Hours: 8:00 - 16:00.

Fees: USD $6,78 non-residents / ₡1,130 residents.  Payment by card only.
